What types of performances for schools does ABT present?
The ABT presents a variety of special matinee performances throughout the school year including musicals, dance, drama, opera, chamber music and comedy. Some shows connect directly with the curriculum. Others are pure entertainment. There is something for everyone from pre-kindergarten through high school.
How do I make Reservations?
Fill out the order form found inside the ABT School Performance brochure, download a form off our website or fill out a form online. The form can be found under the Education / Reservations. Forms that aren’t done online can be mailed, faxed or hand-delivered, with payment if possible, to the ABT Education Department located in the Executive Offices. Forms of payment include check, credit card or money order. Sorry but we cannot accept cash.
Are we going to get good seats?
Seating assignments are made at the discretion of the ABT based upon special needs of students, age of students, receipt of payment, transportation needs and NOT the date the order is placed. Be sure to include your chaperones in your total count.
How long is a Performance?
Most of our performances run approximately 60 minutes with no intermission. Please check the school show brochure or website for a (*) indicating a longer performance.
How early should we get to the theater?
We recommend arriving at the theater 20 minutes before curtain time. That would be 9:10am for a 9:30am show and 12:10 for a 12:30pm show. If your school is traveling a long distance we recommend an earlier arrival to facilitate the use of restrooms prior to the performance.
Where can I get directions to the Theater?
Directions to the theater are included in the information packet (“Instructions to the Bus Drivers”) sent to the contact person from your school who made the reservation. These instructions include a map to the theater, located in downtown Billings, Montana. You may also check our web site under the Plan Your Visit menu and click on Directions.
Where can I find a theater etiquette guide?
Our Theater Etiquette Guide for School Shows is sent to the contact person on your school show order form. It may also be found on our web site under the Education menu. The guide includes information regarding the use of photographic devices, food and drink, back packs and appropriate theater behavior.

Can I bring my payment to the theater the day of the performance?
No, payment cannot be accepted at the theater. You can mail us a check or call us to pay with a credit card. Final payment must be received by the ‘payment due date’ on your invoice to avoid the risk of cancellation.
What if we are unable to attend the performance due to inclement weather?
The ABT will make every effort to book your school group for another age-appropriate performance during the same school year. A refund will be given if an alternate show cannot be substituted. Payments cannot be carried over from one school year to another.
